Clipper

The Clipper shaves peaks with four selectable curves from Soft to a Modern rounded-hard hybrid, with continuous Softness and Asymmetry controls to shade the harmonic color. The Spectral control pushes clip energy toward less audible frequency regions - loudness without the fizz.

It scales up to serious mastering duty: independent clipping for the center and the sides with separate drives, an optional multiband mode, a true-peak guard that catches the tiny overshoots that only appear after conversion to speakers and streaming formats, and a Delta switch that lets you listen to exactly what is being removed before you commit.

Why it hits different

The GhostWare take.

  • Spectral clipping hides the damage where ears do not look.
  • Center/sides and multiband modes for mastering-grade peak control.
  • Delta listen: hear precisely what you are giving up.

In the shot

  • 1
    TRANSFER CURVE

The clip shape, from soft round-over to modern hard edge.

  • 2
    DELTA TRACE

Exactly what is being shaved off the signal.

  • 3

Control Showcase

Every control, explained.

16 controls, named exactly as they appear in the plugin.

Threshold -24 to 0 dB (default 0 dB)

Level where clipping begins.

Drive 0 to 24 dB (default 0 dB)

Pushes the signal into the clip stage.

Ceiling -12 to 0 dB (default 0 dB)

A hard output ceiling: nothing leaves the module louder than this.

Shape

The clip curve: Soft, Medium, Hard or the Modern rounded-hard hybrid.

SoftMediumHardModern
Oversampling

Runs the distortion math at 2x or 4x internal resolution to reduce harsh digital artifacts (aliasing). Off is cheapest on CPU, 4x is cleanest.

Off2x4x
Delta on / off

Listen to only what is being removed - the difference signal.

Mix 0 to 100 % (default 100 %)

Blend between the untouched signal and the processed one. 100% is fully wet.

Output -24 to 24 dB (default 0 dB)

Final level trim after clipping.

Softness 0 to 100 % (default 0 %)

Extra rounding on the selected shape.

Asymmetry -100 to 100 % (default 0 %)

Clips the top and bottom of the waveform differently for a warmer, tube-like color.

Spectral 0 to 100 % (default 0 %)

Spectral clipping: pushes the clip energy toward less audible frequency regions.

M/S Mode

Clips mid and side separately instead of left/right.

OffOn
Mid Drive 0 to 24 dB (default 0 dB)

Drive into the mid (center) clipper in M/S mode.

Side Drive 0 to 24 dB (default 0 dB)

Drive into the side clipper in M/S mode.

Multiband

Splits into bands so each range clips independently.

TP Guard

True-peak guard: catches the tiny overshoots that only appear after conversion to speakers and streaming formats.
