Ring Mod

Ring Mod combines the signal with a built-in tone for everything from slow tremolo to metallic, bell-like overtones. Three waveforms, stereo phase offset, a depth control that blends from a gentle wobble into the full metallic effect, and post filters to tame the extremes.

The reason this one stays on tracks: it tracks. Keytrack follows the audio's detected pitch or live MIDI notes - with a semitone offset - so the metallic overtones stay in tune with the music instead of clashing, and the input's own loudness can push the tone's frequency with the performance.

Why it hits different

The GhostWare take.

  • Pitch tracking keeps ring mod musical across a whole melody.
  • Play the built-in tone from your MIDI keyboard, live.
  • Loudness-to-frequency for growls that follow the dynamics.

Control Showcase

Every control, explained.

12 controls, named exactly as they appear in the plugin.

Frequency 0.1 to 20000 Hz (default 30 Hz)

Frequency of the built-in tone - low is a tremolo-like wobble, high is metallic, bell-like overtones.

Sync

Locks the timing to your session tempo at the chosen note value instead of free-running.

Waveform

Shape of the built-in tone: Sine (pure), Triangle (softer harmonics) or Square (hard chop).

SineTriangleSquare
Stereo 0 to 180 deg (default 0 deg)

Offsets the tone between channels for stereo shimmer.

Post HP 20 to 2000 Hz (default 20 Hz)

High-pass after the effect to clean up the sub rumble the effect creates.

Depth 0 to 100 % (default 100 %)

Blend from a subtle tremolo wobble (low) to the full metallic ring-mod effect (100%).

Post LP 1000 to 20000 Hz (default 20000 Hz)

Low-pass after the effect to tame the harsh top-end overtones.

Env Depth -100 to 100 % (default 0 %)

Lets the input's loudness push the tone's frequency up or down.

Env Attack 0.1 to 500 ms (default 10 ms)

How fast the envelope follower reacts.

Env Release 1 to 2000 ms (default 150 ms)

How fast the envelope follower relaxes.

Keytrack

Tunes the built-in tone to the music: Pitch Track follows the audio's detected pitch; MIDI follows notes you play into the plugin.

OffPitch TrackMIDI
Track Offset -24 to 24 st (default 0 st)

Interval offset applied on top of the tracked pitch, in semitones.
