Filter Motion

Filter Motion is a filter with an engine room. Nine types - low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, notch, comb, vowel, phaser, formant and a resonant ladder - with drive, selectable slope, and up to twelve phaser stages.

Movement comes from two sources at once: a tempo-syncable LFO with four shapes and stereo phase offset, and an envelope follower with adjustable attack and release that lets the input's own dynamics play the cutoff. Auto-wah, synced sweeps, vowel talk and slow phaser drift all live here.

Why it hits different

The GhostWare take.

  • Nine filter personalities, from surgical to vocal to ladder scream.
  • LFO and envelope modulation simultaneously - motion with a pulse.
  • Stereo phase offset turns any sweep into a wide, rotating one.

Control Showcase

Every control, explained.

15 controls, named exactly as they appear in the plugin.

Type

The filter itself: LP, HP, BP, Notch, Comb, Vowel, Phaser, Formant or the resonant Ladder.

LPHPBPNotchCombVowelPhaserFormantLadder
Cutoff 20 to 20000 Hz (default 1000 Hz)

The corner frequency of the filter.

Resonance 0 to 100 % (default 20 %)

Emphasis at the cutoff - high values scream.

Drive 0 to 24 dB (default 0 dB)

Pushes the signal into the filter for analog-style growl.

Env Amount -100 to 100 % (default 0 %)

How much the input's loudness pushes the cutoff around (positive opens, negative closes).

LFO Rate 0.01 to 10 Hz (default 0.5 Hz)

Speed of the cutoff LFO when not synced.

LFO Depth 0 to 100 % (default 0 %)

How far the LFO sweeps the cutoff.

Sync

Locks the timing to your session tempo at the chosen note value instead of free-running.

Off1/11/21/41/81/16
Mix 0 to 100 % (default 100 %)

Blend between the untouched signal and the processed one. 100% is fully wet.

Slope

Filter steepness: 12 or 24 dB per octave.

12 dB24 dB
LFO Shape

LFO waveform: Sine, Triangle, Saw or Square.

SineTriangleSawSquare
Stereo Phase 0 to 180 deg (default 0 deg)

Offsets the LFO between channels for stereo movement.

Stages 2 to 12 (default 4)

Number of stages for the Phaser type - more stages, deeper notches.

Env Attack 1 to 200 ms (default 5 ms)

How fast the envelope follower reacts to level rises.

Env Release 10 to 1000 ms (default 80 ms)

How fast the envelope follower relaxes.
